We provide technical services and bring funding into the county. We work with our partner, the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service and, together, we have nearly $1 million dollars of funding to put toward agricultural improvement (see below for service projects and programs).
Support for Natural Resources Conservation Service Projects
We provide technical assistance to farmers and landowners who apply for financial assistance from the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service. The NRCS supports a variety of farm management practices, including livestock watering systems, irrigation structures and efforts that improve the quality of land, water and habitat conditions and more.
Here are some areas where we provide technical assistance and programs we’re involved with:
- Cover crops
- Grass waterways
- Pollinator fields
- Grazing management plans
- Soil testing & web soil surveys
- Pond development and maintenance plans
- StreamStats for water-resources planning and management and for engineering and design purposes
- Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP)
- Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
- Agricultural Management Assistance Program (AMA)
- Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP)
- Healthy Forests Reserve Program (HFRP)
- Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP)
