Trivia Contest Giveaway to Celebrate 70th Anniversary
Entrants Can Win $70 Toward Fish Sale, Rental Equipment, Food Plots
The Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District announced today it will host an online trivia contest to commemorate its 70th anniversary. Participants will have the chance to win a $70 gift certificate toward the District’s upcoming Fall Fish Sale, agricultural equipment rental or wildlife food plot mix.
The trivia contest will be posted at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17 on the District’s Facebook page and will also be communicated through its email newsletter. Individuals wishing to participate should follow Mahoning Soil & Water on Facebook and/or sign up to receive the newsletter.
The first individual to answer the most questions correct will win the $70-prize of his/her choice.
“We saw this as a fun way to celebrate our 70 years in the Mahoning Valley, engage our community with conservation-related trivia and give away prizes that ultimately contribute to the conservation of natural resources,” said District Administrator Kathleen Vrable-Bryan.
“Our Fall Fish Sale is highly attended by local pond and lake owners, sportsmen clubs and others looking to stock their ponds, so we think the gift certificate will be highly sought after. For other outdoor enthusiasts, the rental equipment discount and food plot mix prizes are valuable, especially this time of year, which is ideal for establishing wildlife food plots for the fall.”
The contest aligns with Mahoning SWCD’s mission to educate individuals of all ages on how to utilize natural resources and conserve soil and water. The District will be hosting a series of activities and contests throughout the year to celebrate its 70th anniversary while educating the community. The local office was created in June 1950 in line with a state law that set up parameters for county-level offices to promote conservation.
