Mahoning SWCD Revives Annual Tree Sale — Online
UPDATE: The 2021 tree sale has ended. Thanks to all who participated!
The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District office today announced plans to revive its annual tree sale in partnership with the Licking County SWCD.
A variety of native trees and shrubs will be available for purchase starting Monday, Feb. 1, in quantities of 5, 25 and 100, including Ohio buckeye, black walnut and white oak trees, along with white hazel, pawpaw and chokecherry. Assorted items like wildflower seeds, dibble bars and rain barrels will also be available.
“We’re glad to revive our tree sale after a 10-year hiatus through this partnership with the Licking SWCD,” said Kathleen Vrable-Bryan, district administrator. “Trees offer many social and environmental benefits, and with so many families spending more time at home, we’re hopeful this sale will help to expand and diversify green spaces in our community.”
Orders will be accepted through March 24 at the Licking SWCD website. Mahoning County residents should select the “Mahoning SWCD” dropdown during checkout. Pickup will be April 16, 19 and 20, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Mahoning SWCD office, located at 850 Industrial Road in Youngstown.
Bulk orders of 100 items or more may be accommodated based on availability. For more information, contact the Mahoning SWCD office by phone at (330) 740-7995 or askswcd@mahoningcountyoh.gov.
