Mahoning SWCD to Host 1st Annual Pollinator Palooza Festival
Youngstown, OH – The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), in collaboration with Operation Pollination, the Mahoning County Landbank, and OSU Extension Mahoning County, is excited to announce the 1st Annual Pollinator Palooza Festival. This engaging and family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mahoning SWCD Office Parking Lot, located at 850 Industrial Road, Youngstown, OH 44509.
The Pollinator Palooza Festival is an opportunity for the community to celebrate and support pollinators while learning about their essential role in the environment. The event will include native plant sales, artisan vendors, community partner exhibits, food trucks, and more. Attendees will also have the chance to connect with organizations dedicated to conservation and sustainability.
“We are thrilled to host this event and invite everyone to join us in celebrating the vital role pollinators play in our environment,” said Zack Felger, District Outreach and Education Specialist at Mahoning SWCD. “This festival is designed to educate, inspire, and bring our community together around the shared goal of supporting pollinators and native plant conservation.”
The event is free and open to the public. To make the festival as environmentally friendly as possible, attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, as hydration stations will be available to support a zero-waste initiative.
Local vendors interested in participating are invited to showcase their products and services, particularly those related to pollinators, native plants, or conservation. For more information or to secure a spot, vendors can contact Zack Felger at zachary.felger@mahoningcountyoh.gov.
Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate pollinators, explore native plant solutions, and enjoy a fun-filled morning with your family and friends.
