Educators Invited to Free Workshop on Wildlife-Based Learning

Canfield, OH – Educators interested in incorporating nature-based activities into their teaching are invited to attend a free professional development workshop, Project WILD & Growing Up WILD, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Ohio State University Extension, Mahoning County, 490 S Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406.

This hands-on workshop is designed for both formal and informal educators who work with PreK-12 students. Participants will receive two curriculum and activity guides, a certificate of completion, access to wildlife education resources, and eligibility to apply for the Ohio Division of Wildlife’s Education Grant. The program is structured to provide high-quality, interdisciplinary materials that align with national and state education standards.

Project WILD & Growing Up WILD are nationally recognized programs that engage students with interactive, nature-focused lessons. Educators will explore activities that inspire curiosity about wildlife and the environment while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Whether teaching in a classroom, nature center, or after-school program, attendees will gain valuable tools to enhance their curriculum with engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

The workshop is free to attend, but participants are responsible for providing their own lunch. Spots are limited, and early registration is encouraged.
