Election for Mahoning Soil & Water District Board Supervisors Set for Oct. 28
The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District will stage its Election of Supervisors at its annual meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at the Joyce Pogany Pavilion at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.
Voting is open to the public.
Five candidates are running for two positions on the district’s volunteer board of supervisors, the five-member body that governs the agency. They are:
- John Adamski
- Courtney Boyle
- Douglas Miller
- James Milligan
- Kim Urig
The new members will be elected to three-year terms that will begin January 1, 2020.
The members will set the direction of the organization and act as ambassadors for the district in their communities, providing supervision to the district administrator and oversight of fiscal decisions and funding activities.
Absentee votes can be cast in person at the district office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on week days through Friday, October 25.
There will be light refreshments served at the election. Residents and landowners will be able to meet and speak with the district staff.

The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District advances best
management practices for conserving land and water resources by
providing education, technical assistance and stewardship. Established in
1950, the District is staffed by a small but effective team of environmental
professionals who lead efforts in community and school outreach, stormwater
control, watershed protection, pond management and more. The District is
governed by a five-member volunteer board of supervisors and
maintains offices at 850 Industrial Road in Youngstown.
