Visit Mahoning SWCD at the 2025 Canfield Fair!

Mahoning County, OH – The Mahoning Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is excited to once again participate in the 179th Canfield Fair, taking place Wednesday, August 27 through Monday, September 1, 2025. Visitors can find us inside the Government Building, where our booth will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Canfield Fair has been a community tradition for nearly two centuries, drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year. It provides the perfect setting for Mahoning SWCD to connect with residents, answer questions, and share resources on conservation and natural resource management.

This year’s booth will feature:

  • Meet the Team – Staff and board members will be available to discuss local conservation efforts, water quality protection, soil health, and land stewardship programs.
  • Macroinvertebrates on Display – Families can get a close look at aquatic insects and other small critters that play a big role in monitoring stream health.
  • Hands-On Learning – Visitors of all ages can take part in interactive activities while learning practical ways to improve soil and water quality at home.

“Connecting with residents at the Canfield Fair is one of the highlights of our year,” said District Executive Director, Kathi Vrable-Bryan. “It gives us the chance to showcase the important work being done in Mahoning County while also providing practical information that people can use in their everyday lives.”

The Mahoning SWCD encourages all fairgoers to stop by, meet the staff, and learn more about conservation efforts happening right here in our community. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the area, this is a great opportunity to see how small actions can make a big difference for our natural resources.
