Mahoning SWCD Announces Winners of Conservation Billboard Design Contest

The Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) recently concluded its annual Conservation Billboard Design Contest, drawing entries from students in grades K through 4 across the county. Among the standout submissions were the winning designs from Hilltop Elementary in Canfield and Jackson-Milton Elementary in North Jackson.

The theme of this year’s contest, “Protecting Our Water, Sustaining Our Future,” inspired young artists to create impactful and visually captivating artwork. Their winning pieces will now be prominently displayed on Lamar billboards located at key intersections throughout Mahoning County.

Starting from now and continuing through July 21st, drivers and passersby can admire the creativity and dedication of these budding environmentalists on billboards located on 224 and Southern Boulevard in Boardman, as well as Market Street and Route 164 in Boardman.

The Mahoning SWCD expresses gratitude to all participating schools, students, and educators for their enthusiasm and commitment to conservation. These billboards serve as a reminder of the importance of protecting our water resources and sustaining a healthy environment for future generations.
