Mahoning SWCD Announces Winter Conservation Billboard Design Contest

Youngstown, OH – The Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District is excited to announce a winter poster contest open to all students in grades K-4 across Mahoning County. This year’s winter theme, “Salt Smart, Play Your Part: Keep Our Water Clean from the Start!” encourages young artists to creatively engage with the importance of water conservation and pollution prevention during winter.

The contest invites submissions from public, private, and home-schooled students, with one winner selected from each grade. The winning designs will be showcased on a Mahoning SWCD billboard located within the county, providing a platform for these talented young individuals to share their message with the community.

Entry Guidelines:

  • Each student may submit one entry.
  • Designs must be created on 11”x17” horizontal paper.
  • Entries should feature clear, large details that are easily readable by moving traffic.
  • Posters must be made with markers and/or crayons, please do not use lead or colored pencils.
  • Please attach the Poster Contest Entry Form to the submission. The Poster Contest Entry Form can be found HERE.

How to Enter: Entries can be emailed to askswcd@mahoningcountyoh.gov or delivered in person to the Mahoning SWCD office at 850 Industrial Rd, Youngstown, OH.
