Application Deadline Nears for 2 Volunteer Board Seats
The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking applicants for two seats on its volunteer board of supervisors, the five-member body that governs the District.
The new members will be elected to three-year terms by a special countywide public election planned for October.
Board supervisors must be U.S. citizens and Mahoning County residents or Mahoning County property owners over the age of 18. They set the direction of the organization and act as ambassadors for the District in their communities, providing supervision to the District administrator
and oversight of fiscal decisions and funding activities.

The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District advances best management practices for conserving land and water resources by providing education, technical assistance and stewardship. Established in 1950, the District is staffed by a small but effective team of environmental professionals who lead efforts in community and school outreach, stormwater control, watershed protection, pond management and more. The District is governed by a five-member volunteer board of supervisors and maintains offices at 850 Industrial Road in Youngstown.
